Bodhi Farms is hosting a seminar on winter greenhouse growing, season extension and alternative hydroponics systems on  Wednesday March 25, 2015. This seminar is open to the public and is free for farmers in the Tri County area (Mora, San Miguel and Guadeloupe counties) and members of the Santa Fe Farmers market.  The seminar will cover how to build a greenhouse from ordinary materials available at any home supply store.  Bodhi Farms has built a number of high tunnels, hoop houses and greenhouses. The seminar will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various approaches will be discussed. Bodhi Farms will demonstrate a ground thermal storage system – a method of heating the ground during the day and using the stored heat to heat the greenhouse during the day.  The event starts at 10:00 AM. Tours occur every hour on the hour.

Bodhi Farms has built NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) organic hydroponic systems that can be built with ordinary household materials, allowing a farmer to maximize return and profit on the farm. Additionally a basic hydroponic fodder system which provides a fodder for cattle, goats, and farm birds will be demonstrated. Once again this system can be constructed from ordinary household materials.  A parts list will be provided to farmers and interested participants who will wish to build any of these systems. Snack from the farm will be available. Bodhi Farms CSA customers or the public can attend this event free of charge. If you aren’t a current CSA customer, please book a space at no charge. Take I-25 North to exit 339 (there is a gas station across the freeway). Turn right onto US-84

South. Take the next right (approximately 200 feet). Turn right. You will pass a KOA on the

right hand side. There is a set of mailboxes, stay on the paved road. Bodhi Farms in 1/2 a mile on

the right hand side. You will pass Lulu’s ranch and Los Vigils on the other side.
